System requirements
Minimum is a GTX 1070 or RX 5600 XT with 16GB of RAM; recommended is an RTX 2080 Ti or RX 7700 XT with 32GB. Either way you need 30GB of space and an SSD is preferred.
Among the Trolls is a Windows-only Unreal Engine 5 survival adventure, and its published requirements are on the demanding side for an indie release: a GTX 1070 or RX 5600 XT at minimum, with 30 GB of storage and an SSD preferred.

The developers' earlier target specs
The developers' own FAQ, written while the game was still in development, described the requirements they were hoping to achieve. The CPU, memory and GPU tiers match the table above, which is a good sign: the published list is not a last-minute surprise but the target they set themselves.
The useful change between that FAQ and the store page is the addition of concrete storage and sound card lines, plus the SSD preference. Treat SSD as close to mandatory: the game loads dense forest and dungeons, and the developers list SSD as preferred for a reason.
What the numbers mean in practice
- 16 GB is the floor, not comfortable. The demo period included a hotfix for a memory leak that could cause an out-of-memory crash on PCs with 16 GB of RAM. If you are on minimum memory, close background applications.
- A 30 GB install wants space to spare. Leave headroom for patches and shader caches.
- GPU tier matters for the visuals. The game's selling point is its atmosphere; running it under the recommended GPU will cost you the lighting that carries the mood.
- Windows only. The FAQ is direct: the team focused on delivering the game on Windows; Mac and Linux are not part of the plan.
Practical setup advice
- Install on an SSD if you have one.
- Keep at least 45 GB free on the drive to leave room for patches.
- If you are at 16 GB of RAM, close other heavy applications before long sessions.
- Set Windows display scaling to 100 percent if the image looks soft — that was the fix the developers recommended during the demo.
- Check the store page on release day for any updated requirements; publishers do revise these.
